A Rhetorical Company consultant will work out with the client what the business need is and how to achieve it. A proposal will be submitted describing the approach and synopsis of training. The Rhetorical Company does not offer and does not believe in open courses or off the shelf programmes. Communication is not an end in itself: communication is for a purpose; above all, it is directed to a specific audience.

A programme always starts with the basic principles of best practice in communication. Subsequent elements could include:

• The design of a message

• The delivery of a message

• The design and use of effective headings and notes

• The design and display of Visual Aids

• Question and Answer technique

• Boardroom skills

• Interview management

• Design and rehearsal of conference and Away Day presentations

The Figure of Rhetoric

The Figure in the Crest shows Rhetoric as one of the seven Liberal Arts. Her right hand is extended to demonstrate the importance of gesture while her left hand holds Cicero’s De Oratore, one of the great classical texts of the art and science of Rhetoric.
